The Nighttime Host's Unfiltered Take on Historic Election Results
As the clock struck midnight, late-night hosts across America were getting in on the action, sharing their reactions to the dramatic election results that saw historic wins and Democrats projected to take control of both chambers of Congress.
Kimmel's show was no exception, allowing him to get in some early jokes on a night that seemed to be shaping up to be anything but. The late-night host spent the day watching Fox News coverage of the results, trying to give himself an insurrection.
Despite his joking tone, Kimmel paid tribute to outgoing House Speaker Mike Johnson with a compilation of some of his funniest moments, a clear nod to the importance of laughter in times of uncertainty.
Meanwhile, Trump continued to tweet out his views on the election, with some observers suggesting that he may have been trying to stoke tensions ahead of the next presidential debate. As for Kimmel's show, it was a fitting conclusion to a night that saw many of America's top late-night hosts weighing in on the historic outcome.
In the end, Kimmel's take on the election results served as a reminder that even in times of uncertainty, there's always room for humor and levity.
